Many young people love to explore the beauty of Da Nang in summer because it is also when the city comes alive with the most distinctive recreational and entertainment opportunities.
Da Nang, located in the South Central Coast region, is well-known among its worldwide friends for its vibrant and colorful urban image. Da Nang is more than just the Golden Bridge hidden behind the morning mist or the statue of a carp turning into a dragon dazzling in the light of fireworks; it is also a significant hub of culture, education, health, politics, economy, and society. Not as opulent as Saigon or as well-organized as Hanoi, going self-sufficient, you will see the interference between the “old” and “present” aspects in the architecture and the daily life of the local people. Therefore, traveling to Da Nang in the summer will undoubtedly provide travelers with the most memorable experiences. Da Nang weather in summer
Da Nang is located in the South Central region and has a tropical monsoon climate with high temperatures and minimal variation. Da Nang’s average annual temperature is around 25.6°C, with the highest temperature being around 29.2°C in June and the lowest being 21.2°C in February. The average rainfall in Da Nang is 1,355 mm, with October having the highest (266 mm) and February having the lowest (7 mm).
Da Nang’s weather, like that of neighboring provinces in the South Central region, is influenced by both the northern and southern climates. Therefore, the climate in Da Nang is divided into two different seasons: dry season and the rainy season. The dry season runs from December to August of the following year, and the rainy season runs from September to the end of November.
The summer weather in Da Nang (from May to October) will be divided into two periods: early summer and late summer.
Early summer (May to August)
At the beginning of summer, the temperature in Da Nang ranges from 30°C to 32°C. It is sunny, and there are few storms. The weather in Da Nang in early summer is quite pleasant and suitable for experiencing fun and entertaining activities such as swimming and playing on the beach. However, there will be a few days when the weather in Da Nang has a high temperature of up to 36°C. At this time, visitors experiencing outdoor fun activities should avoid hot sunny times (from 11am to 3pm) and prepare sun protection items such as umbrellas, sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, etc. to limit the impact of the weather on your visit to Da Nang.
Late summer (August to October)
At the end of summer, heat waves no longer seem to appear; instead, there are sporadic showers, signaling a rainy season is coming. The temperature in Da Nang at this time will decrease by 1 to 2 degrees compared to the beginning of summer.
Furthermore, according to the climate map of Vietnam, this is the time when storms and thunderstorms come more frequently, tending to the seas around Da Nang. As a result, travelers planning to visit Da Nang should keep an eye on the weather prediction at all times to avoid being impacted by weather variables.
What to pack for a summer trip to Da Nang?
Beachwear
If you’re visiting Da Nang in the summer, you should definitely pack some nice beachwear.
For girls, a bikini or a maxi dress will be a great suggestion for a beach trip. If you wear a bikini to the beach, you should choose an outfit that flatters your figure as much as possible. A two-piece bikini will be suitable for those with a small waist, slim figure. For those of you who are a bit chubby, you should choose a one-piece bikini to cover the defects of the abdomen and waist area. In addition, it would be remiss to travel to the beach without bringing along an ankle-length maxi dress. These dresses will make you stand out while walking on the beach.
For men, a pair of Hawaiian-style shorts or a combination of shorts and a short-sleeved shirt with floral and fruit motifs will be a suitable choice to wear to the beach.
Remember to carry a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and a jacket to the beach to protect your skin from the harmful effects of UV rays!
Streetwear
Visitors to Da Nang in the summer can wear whatever they choose as long as they are satisfied and comfortable. If you intend to take a check-in photo at a certain tourist attraction, you should consult the shooting angle in advance and choose an outfit to suit the scene and make you stand out the most. Do not forget to bring on accessories such as earrings, necklace to make your outfit more prominent.
In addition, in the evening, it will be a bit chilly. Therefore, you should bring a light jacket to keep your body warm.
Temple attire
If when walking on the street, you can wear any outfit, depending on your preferences, then when going to the temple, you should dress neatly, politely, and discreetly, avoiding costumes and clothes that are too short, such as: short skirts, two-piece tops, shorts, off-shoulder tops, underarms, etc. Dressing discreetly is a minimal courtesy when visiting temples and pagodas, showing respect upon reaching the Buddha’s door. You should take some sandals or slippers with you because you need to take off your shoes when visiting temples.
Mountain Climbing Clothing
You should choose sportswear for climbing clothing because it is the most comfortable and convenient for moving and training. With shirts, choose cotton shirts, which have good sweat absorption ability. With pants, leggings, or jeans a bit wide so that you can easily move. And, of course, the shoes. Mountain climbing shoes should be either sports shoes or specialized climbing shoes. Your steps will be firmer and stronger if you wear the correct shoes.
